Maximize your musical ideas on-stage or in the studio with the new Akai MPK49 performance controller. The Akai MPK49 ushers in a new era for USB/MIDI controllers by combining a high-quality, 49-key, semi-weighted keyboard with aftertouch and 12 genuine MPC drum pads.

    Feature:
It has great features and works with almost any program, however Ive found that the keys and pads translate information too slowly to play fluently. For a person use to using a triton, this was a huge letdown.

    Quality:
I h.ad it about two weeks, then one of the function controls bent somehow. The pads were also very soft. They say that they mimic the mpc pads, but they feel like something made by fisher price. I like the pads on Korgs midi controller better

    Value:
I would have been better off buying the m-audio 88 key controller which goes for the same price, but transposes information faster.

    Desirability:
The sexiness of it was probably the final factor in me choosing to try this product versus others

    Sound:
U cant really rate something for sound if it doesnt actually create sounds can u?

    Ease of Use:
I found it very easy to set up the parameters and preset functions.

    Support:
I didnt have to call anyone except the company I brought it from to exchange it for a better and more reliable product.

    Overall:
I wouldnt want anyone to steal it, because then i couldnt get my money back, but if they did, id take my insurance $ and spend it on the next thing. Akai tried, but they still have some improvements to make. I guess when everyone is making bs equipment for 1/2 ass musicians, u can get away with selling a piece of garbage like this. it was a huge waste of money.

Feature:
the click knobs are ok but id like a smoother feel instead. the pads are a little unforgiving but actually better for expressing sounds and drums especially. the keys are semi-weighted but they feel kind of stiff and even a little stuck sometimes; was kinda dissapointed by that actually.

Quality:
well, its plastic and bulky, blue display lights up nicely, the keys are just what kind of bummed me out.

Value:
the price on here is good, especially since this the only midi controller at this size w/ pads and quite a few features.

Desirability:
its sexier looking in the picture but hey, its supposed to sit in your studio. the blue led adds a little something.

Sound:
well sound quality really depends on your computer of course, this just gets the job done.

Overall:
ill probably stick w/ this for a while since its got a bit of everything. i found it a bit stiff when playing but its just a controller, not a grand piano. i think for the price and everything, its great for beginners. i picked this over the ozone because of the pads.
