The GXL2200 is a large diameter, fixed cardioid pattern, condenser microphone. High sensitivity and low distortion make this microphone an ideal candidate for recording, broadcast, sound reinforcement including vocal and instrument applications. The capsule in the GXL2200 features a 1 in. gold vapor deposited diaphragm.

Sound:
Very clear sound, extremely sensative but sounds great on vocals and drum overhead.

Samson Gm1u G-track Usb Microphone With Interface Large Stand mount Condenser Microphones Samson Recording Shipping Cost :$0 Feature: This mic definitely rates a 10 simply because of its unique features. there is absolutely no other mic with this many features. (The sE Electronics USB2200a comes close but their mic has no line/guitar input. They do, however, have USB noise supressers that eliminate the inherent USB 5v noise). Quality: Through the noise, the frequency response for the mic is okay. It lacks depth in the lower frequencies - almost as if a bass rolloff switch has been left on somewhere. Value: I guess its okay - as a curiosity item or toy. Absolutely not usable in a professional environment. Desirability: This mic needs to go back to the drawing board. Sound: Because this mic is so noisy (static & a high-pitched whine), it is unusable for anything othet than sound with high SPLs such as drums. Its useless for vocals, acoustic guitar, etc. Ease of Use: Piece of cake - if you remember what audio drivers your computer is using. I have Cubase/Nuendo/Sound Forge 9 so I use Asio4all as my main driver. Support: Cant report on support yet. If Samson makes drivers that can somehow "condition" the USB line so its quiet, then the G-Track is a winner Overall: This mic is actually not a recommended buy unless youre nly using it to specifically record instruments with loud SPLs like drums where you can turn down the mics input and reduce the inherent USB noise. Sound: I bought it to record live acoustic guitar and vocals, as well as synthesizer played through an amp,, all worked perfectly. Easy as plug in and go,,, low cutoff useful as well as multipattern settings useful,,, I think its a fine mic, and very solidly constructed. Support: I didnt need support, so I dont know.
