Shipping Cost :$4.99
Value:
Just avarage. Cheap price, cheap product
Desirability:
All the money you dont pay upfront (for a dbx, neutrik, hosa, tascam,...) youll spend in hours crawling behind your desk/flight case stacks to check the connections, removing the unit from teh rack to check the switches (which are a good idea, but stupidly located and inaccessible as soon as the unit is racked)
Support:
Behringer support is legendary to take forever and cost more than the product. For a price tag below $50, Id consider its a consummable.

Behringer Px1000 48-point Balanced Patch Bay Analog Patchbays Behringer Accessories Shipping Cost :$5.99 Feature: It runs in four modes. It will tell you it runs in five, but two of those modes are the same mode, and depend on wether you have patched anything in or not. It meets my needs, which are meager, very well. Quality: The only gripe I have about the quality is that when you are rotating modules, you have to take the whole unit apart, and this can cause modules to fall out or make it difficult to put back together if they dont all fall into their own little hole. Other than that, its solid. Value: Super cheap, and gets the job done. A slight learning curve aside, this will meet a project studios needs for basic patching. I patch a few synths and effects here and there, but only deal with about 10 sources, so this is perfect for me, and it is balanced! Desirability: Patchbays are arguably the most boring thing to buy, next to cabling, which was incidentally more expensive in this case. Sound: The product does nothing to the sound. This is good for a patchbay, as you dont want any noise or interference. I gave it a five because it doesnt create any sound. Support: I havent dealt with Behringer customer support. Overall: This product doesnt make a lot of claims, and it certainly gets the job done. I have noticed no introduction of noise, no loss of signal, and it works just as I imagined. Behringer Px2000 Ultrapatch Pro Analog Patchbays Behringer Accessories Shipping Cost :$4.99 Feature: Dip switches on top of the unit allow you to select Normalled, 1/2-normalled, Open or Parallel for each A/B duo of ports. If you think you wont use that feature, youre wrong, its very, very handy. Quality: Solid, sturdy, with tight jacks. I think you could run over it with a car and not hurt it. Value: Worth every penny and probably more. Desirability: Its just a patch bay, not very sexy, but it is now my favorite, most useful piece of gear because of how it "enabled" the rest of my gear. Sound: Adds no apparent noise to my signal path and has even solved a ground loop problem I was having with an old Korg M1. Support: Behringer is slow as death to answer emails, but the one time Ive ever had to return a new "B-stock" Behringer item, they replaced it with a brand new "A-stock" one for no additional charge. Overall: If you have a multitrack and a few DSPs, or even an amp and a few different pieces of rack gear, a patch bay may be for you. This one is a godsend for me, and as patch bays go, theres not a thing wrong with this inexpensive unit. Retail Price :$64.99 Review this product |

Neutrik Nyssppl 48-point Trs Balanced Patchbay Analog Patchbays Neutrik Accessories Shipping Cost :$0 Feature: I would have rated it a ten if it had come with one or two of the "Insert" inserts that are available for it. And I would have preferred that the write-on lables that ship with the unit be set up to allow neat typing off of a computer. Theres no way I can write that small and end up with something legible. Quality: So far so good. It might deserve a ten but I havent had it long enough to know for sure. Value: Definitely better than the old way of wiring up the stuff. I cant imagine how I ever got along without one. Desirability: No sex appeal...but very practical. Sound: I rated it a ten because it doesnt appear to cause deterioration to the sound. Overall: It had better last as long as I plan to play music. Im spoiled with it already! Retail Price :$99 Review this product |
