Taylor T5 Thinline Fiveway Standard Spruce Cutaway Acoustic-electric Guitar (with Case)
6 string Acoustic electric Guitars
Taylor
Guitars, Amps, and Effects
A fully-hollow, thinline body is the backbone of Taylors first-ever electric guitar. Designed to be equally comfortable played through both electric and acoustic amps, the T5 offers a versatile range of pure analog tones, from strumming acoustic to crunch electric -- and everything in between. A spruce top and 5-way pickup are standard, along with microdot fretboard inlays and chrome hardware.

Quality:
Apparently, extremely well made, though this is a brand new product and only time will tell. Only after being subjected to the rigors of the road will one be certain of the components. Get the warranty!!!
Value:
For the money there are quite a few guitars out there that play as well but are hundreds, if not a thousand dollars less. This guitar is being heavily promoted and the press doesnt live up to reality. Look around, unless you have more money than common sense.
Sound:
Despite Taylors claims that this guitar sounds full when not amplified, the reality is, IT DOES NOT. Without an amp anyone speaking in a normal tone will exceed the volume of the guitar. Amplified, it sings, depending on what you are plugged into. Tube is the way to go. The T5 does play like a dream. The action is suberb and light. Be forewarned, if you do not get this axe from an authorized dealer, Taylor will not provide warranty service. It doesnt matter if the seller furnishes warranty cards, good wishes or a magic wand, ONLY authorized dealers can provide the goods of a Taylor warranty.

Taylor 814ce Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-electric Guitar (with Case) 6 string Acoustic electric Guitars Taylor Guitars, Amps, and Effects Shipping Cost :$0 Feature: Top quality guitar case, guitar cable (1/4" plug for guitar and XLR for PA/amp), and Expression System DVD. This cable makes the guitar sound much better than a double 1/4" cable. Quality: Top quality rosewood back and sides. My sitka spruce top has several "bear claws", but Bob Taylor insists this does not affect the tonal quality of the guitar. I believe he is right. Some people like the looks, while others think it looks defective. Desirability: I traded my Santa Cruz Tony Rice guitar for this one. I had to have the E.S. and I love the rosewood. Taylor necks are the best. They are easy to play and just feel good. Sound: Has a nice, well-rounded, deep tone when its not plugged in. The expression system does a nice job balancing all the strings, especially when its plugged directly into a P.A. You can really tell the difference when its plugged in next to a Fishman pickup. The people at Taylor did a real nice job on the E.S. Support: Taylor is very responsive. They call back the same day and have useful information. Overall: Ill supplement this guitar. My next purchase will be a grand concert, all koa Taylor (K22ce). Retail Price :$4058 Review this product |

Applause Ae128 Super-shallow Bowl Cutaway Acoustic-electric Guitar 6 string Acoustic electric Guitars Applause By Ovation Guitars, Amps, and Effects Shipping Cost :$0 Feature: This guitar did not come with any accessories. The only thing i would like to have on this guitar is an on-board tuner. But it is a $200 guitar so i got my moneys worth and more! Quality: For $200 this guitar is made perfect! I wonder why this product is more expensive. Well made, the plastic back is sturdy, and the tuner heads are very precise! Value: YES Desirability: it is a very pretty guitar (i have the ruby red)! The pictures do absolutely no justice...If you really want to see it in person before buying it, go to a music store who has this guitar and check it out! Sound: it sounds great! The high ends sound amazing on this $200 beauty. The two problems with this guitar is that it has slight buzzing on the G string if you play really really hard (dont play really really hard) and the other thing is it sounds slightly better when it is plugged in then when it is unplugged. Ease of Use: The controls are very simple...it has only a 3 band equalizer so it is easy! Support: Have not needed it! Overall: A++ Retail Price :$349.5 Review this product |

Martin Dxme Dreadnought Acoustic-electric Guitar 6 string Acoustic electric Guitars Martin Guitars, Amps, and Effects Shipping Cost :$0 Feature: Laminate body? Yeah, this baby is lasting quite a while. Great onboard EQ as well. Quality: Its made well enough, but the frets seem to wear fairly easily. Hadnt been playing mine for more than a few weeks before I noticed fret wear sinking in. Also, the G and high E strings tends to have trouble staying in tune with the rest as you go higher up the fingerboard. Wish it were just a tad louder too. Value: You wont find a better acoustic/electric combo in this price range. Desirability: It isnt the flashiest instrument around, but its worth every penny. You really need to try one out to truely appreciate this wonderful instrument. Sound: Very warm tone, and the EQ system is great. Ive heard and played better, but nothing anywhere near this price range. Support: Never dealt with them. Overall: Definately keeping this one for the long haul.
