It sounds ok I think. I dont agree totally to the other review on this page. Alot of people cant really see past their nose when it comes to instruments. If you think it sounds a bit dull its probably because you have not set your eq right on your amp. As for using a highter watted amp I agree but dont jump in anp buy a big expensive amp, your looking for an amp thatb provides plenty of low end at high volumes.
Ease of Use:
Now Instead of playing with this bass and not liking the sound and throwing your toys out of the pram and braking your back with expense and buying a really expensive guitar, you can do what I did. The wood on this guitar is good, dont let anyone tell you otherwise, I took the pickup out and replaced it with an EMG-P active pickup. because I was changing to active I had to change the pots and wiring too. I bought a thicker pick guard and use Elixer or ernie ball strings. A gotoah bridge and gotoh machine heads. I use an Ashdown electric blue 15" bass amp 180 watts, sounds great and i DI the amp straight into a mixing desk. his bass now sounds better than a a vintage ??900 fender P Bass and all for a total price of ??150

Which are great! If you are in a band or play the bass in your school band, (whenever you have to be quiet) turn the volume down on your amp because you have to turn all three of the pickup knobs to have your bass quiet. If you dont get one (why wouldnt you?) you just need to be careful that you dont hit the bottom of the guitar because the thing you plug the wire into will come loose. Value: For $200 this is one of the greatest deals you can find! Desirability: This is one of the sexiest basses out there, especially in red! Sound: The sound is great, its crisp and clear with no buzz at all! Ease of Use: There neck is is slightly longer then a medium neck, but its not a problem, I just have short arms. Support: I havent had problems with the bass, but I contacted Ibanez before I bought it. They were a great help, easy to reach and very patient. Dean Ml Metalman Electric Bass 4 string Electric Bass Guitars Dean Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects Shipping Cost :$0 Quality: quality was ok, but i dont know why youd want to play it during a live show Value: not worth the money; buy an ibanez for the same price Desirability: looks cool, thats why i bought it Sound: hate the one pickup; i cant get great tone out of it at all, and it doesnt have a great low end. Quality: my guitar both looks and plays great, for the price you cant beat it, i only wish it was made completly in the US. Value: Price was great i only wish fender itself, would have come out with it. However, its still a really good instrument. Desirability: i love it. the natural finish was the main factor that got me to buy it. Sound: this bass is the best bass that squier has come out with yet! The pickups are top notch quality for the amount of money invested, and the tone of the bass fits all genres of music. if you play alot of pops, and hammer-ons this bass is definatly what your looking for. Ease of Use: this bass is sweet. the sound is excellent, like i said earlier it fits all kinds of music. The one piece maple neck is excellent, plays fast and looks great. For the little amount of money its just as good if not better than an ernie ball or rickenbacker.
